How I Protect Your Family’s Privacy
You Decide What Gets Shared (or Doesn’t)

Your Comfort Comes First, Always
As a parent and a photographer, I take privacy seriously. You’re inviting me into your family’s world—your kids’ personalities, your unfiltered laughter, your real-life connections. I don’t take that lightly.
Every family I work with deserves to feel safe, respected, and in control of how their images are used. That’s why I build privacy into every part of my process—from the moment you book through gallery delivery. Whether you’re totally fine with your photos showing up on Instagram or want everything kept private, the decision is 100% yours.

My Approach: Built on Trust
When you sign up for a family session, you’ll receive a short questionnaire from me. Inside, you’ll see this note:
“As a photographer—and as a father—I understand the importance of privacy. I’d love to share some of the moments we capture on my website, social media, or in email marketing, just like the families whose photos helped you see my style. Of course, you can choose to decline or limit how your images are used, and whether to include your names or remain anonymous. Your family’s comfort is my priority, but sharing these photos would help me connect with more amazing families like yours.”
From there, you can check boxes for where (if anywhere) I may use your images:
• ✅ My website
• ✅ Social media (like Instagram or Facebook)
• ✅ Other uses (like email newsletters or promotional guides)
If you’re cool with social media use, you’ll also have the option to decide whether I use your names or keep you anonymous. You can even share your Instagram handles if you’d like to be tagged, but it’s never required.
Why I Ask for Permission
Seeing real families on my website and feed is what helps new clients find me. I don’t rely on styled shoots or models—I rely on the honest, heartfelt moments we create together. But none of that matters if a family isn’t comfortable. I’d much rather build trust and respect your boundaries than get “one more post.”
You deserve to feel totally in control. That’s why I always check first and never assume.
Full Privacy? Totally Okay.
Some families want full confidentiality. Maybe you’re a private person. Maybe your job requires it. Maybe you just don’t want your kids’ faces online. I get that.
If you opt out completely, your session stays between us. I won’t post, tag, or share a thing. And I’ll never guilt you for choosing privacy—ever.
Partial Sharing? You Set the Limits.
You might be okay with me sharing one or two images, but not the whole gallery. Or maybe you’d rather not be tagged by name, but you’re fine being featured. I can absolutely honor that.
Your privacy settings are flexible. You can change your mind at any time—whether that’s before, during, or after the shoot. Just reach out, and I’ll make sure your wishes are followed right away.
A Quick Word on Security
As a Bend Oregon family photographer, privacy isn’t just about what I post—it’s about how I protect your files. All galleries are delivered through a secure, private link. Your high-resolution images are never shared publicly unless you’ve said yes, and I don’t store your content in public folders, third-party apps, or anything sketchy. It’s just me, my editing software, my secure website, and your awesome crew.
Real Comfort = Better Photos
When you feel safe and respected, it shows in your photos. That’s why privacy isn’t just a backend detail—it’s part of how I create a relaxed, connected space during every session. Whether we’re hiking through Shevlin Park or playing in your backyard, I want you to be fully present, not wondering where your images might end up.
Frequently asked queStions
about My Family Photography Privacy
01. What does “other uses” mean on your questionnaire?
Answer: That usually refers to things like email marketing, seasonal promo prints, web marketing, etc. Again—only if you’ve said yes.
02. Are the images of my kids safe on your website?
Answer: I take this seriously. My site is secure, and I never include location data. Furthermore, if you elect for no sharing of any kind, I can also apply a password to your online gallery for an added layer of security.
03. Will other people be able to download or use our photos?
Answer: No. Your gallery is private and only accessible through a unique link that I send to you. I don’t release your images for stock or public use.
04. Can I change my mind after the session?
Answer: Absolutely. If you gave permission but later want something taken down or kept private, I’ll honor that immediately. No questions asked.
