Lisa + Bryce
Mt. Hood Meadows
Mt Hood, OR
Proof that a little rain, a lot of snow, and the right attitude make for an unforgettable day.
There’s something about Oregon weather that always keeps you guessing... and this day was no exception. Lisa and Bryce’s wedding had it all! Sideways rain, rolling clouds, and a full-blown snowstorm. Most couples would’ve been thrown off by that kind of forecast, but these two leaned in and made it theirs. Their Mt. Hood Meadows wedding wasn’t about perfect conditions—it was about the adventure, the laughter, and their love for everything wild and unpredictable about the Pacific Northwest.
Paws, Pack, and Go Time
The morning started at Cooper Spur, tucked into the trees at the base of Mt. Hood. The plan was simple: get ready, soak in the morning, and get a few photos with their dogs before heading up the mountain. The pups were full of energy with Lisa and Bryce taking turns wrangling leashes and laughing through it all. There wasn’t a trace of stress—just excitement and the steady realization that this was finally the day. The kind of morning where coffee tastes better, time doesn't zoom by, and everything just feels right.
Wet Roads, Snow Storms, and Perfect Timing
Leaving Cooper Spur, we hit Highway 35 in what can only be described as a full-on downpour. We stopped in the middle of the road for a few quick shots... Lisa and Bryce under an umbrella, surrounded by mist and rain. It was cinematic in every sense. From there, we found a grove of larches glowing bright yellow against the gray sky and dark green firs, and then made our way to Umbrella Falls, where rain turned to snow and the world went quiet. It was the kind of weather most photographers avoid, but it couldn’t have been more perfect for me. Every stop along the way felt so real... exactly how these two wanted their day to feel.
Love in The Vertical
By the time we reached Mt. Hood Meadows, the storm was in full force. Thankfully, The Vertical offered a warm, inviting space with panoramic windows that perfectly framed the chaos outside. Guests trickled in, shaking off snow and settling into their seats. The ceremony was short and sweet... just the way Pacific Northwest weddings should be. It was emotional, funny, and completely true to them. Lisa and Bryce stood before family and friends with snow swirling beyond the glass, promising forever in the heart of the storm.
Warm Drinks, Big Laughs
When the ceremony wrapped, the mood shifted from “snowed in” to “let’s party.” Inside The Vertical, guests cozied up with drinks and incredible food from the Meadows team. The live music set the tone: laid-back and soulful, the kind of vibe that makes you forget how wild it is outside. People laughed, shared stories, and took in the view as flakes piled up against the windows. It wasn’t a big, flashy reception. It was intimate, heartfelt, and full of warmth.
One Last Adventure Before Sunset
Before the light faded, we snuck out for one more round of portraits. The snow was coming down hard, but Lisa and Bryce couldn’t have cared less. We wandered to the base of the chairlift and across the open meadows, the two of them smiling and laughing through the storm. It was cold, it was wild, and it was absolutely beautiful. A perfect finish to a day that embodied everything they love most about life together: adventure, nature, and each other.
