Jessica & Bill’s Tetherow Wedding in Bend, Oregon

There are wedding days that feel effortless from the very first moment… and Jessica and Bill’s November celebration at Tetherow was exactly that. I spent eleven hours photographing this day, Meg (my second shooter) was with me for nine, and I swear the energy never dipped for a second. The whole day felt meaningful, intentional, and so perfectly “them.”

Getting Ready: Two Houses, One Easy Morning

One of the things I love most about Tetherow is how easy they make it for their guests... from the moment they arrive on site, everything is easy. Jessica and Bill both stayed on property in beautiful houses that were literally a short walk from the Pavilion. I started the day with Jessica’s details and flatlays at Millhouse 5, layering in her Bella Brides dress and those meaningful touches she cared so much about.

Meg jumped in with Jessica and her family while I walked across the street to where Bill was getting ready. His morning was relaxed, dialed-in, and filled with good energy. One of my favorite moments of the entire day happened right here: Jessica surprised him with a watch that carried a lot of meaning. Watching his reaction through the camera was incredibly moving.

A Bridge, a Breeze, and the Moment Everything Clicked

We met out on the Tetherow Bridge for their first look and private vows, and I’m not kidding… it felt like we had the entire golf course to ourselves. Clear skies. A light fall breeze. That perfect November temperature where you never think about your jacket. When Bill turned around and saw Jessica? Unreal. Those two melt into each other so naturally, and photographing their private vows in that quiet moment was such an honor.

HIM IN BLUE, HER IN BELLA BRIDES, BOTH UNSTOPPABLE

The indoor Pavilion ceremony looked fantastic. High Desert Florals nailed the arrangements, and the entire setup fit the space without trying too hard. Erin — one of Bill’s closest friends — officiated and kept the mood easy and personal.

The ceremony was quick, maybe a few minutes, but the walk down the aisle with Jessica and her dad was easily one of my favorite shots all day.

The First Minutes of Marriage

Right after the ceremony, we slipped outside again for a few more portraits while the light was still gorgeous. They had just gotten married and you could see it all over them. That post-ceremony glow is real.

Cocktail Hour: That Bend-in-November Glow

Cocktail hour was held on the Pavilion deck while the AK Events Co team flipped the ballroom. Arianna and her crew worked absolute magic. When we brought Jessica and Bill inside for their first look at the finished reception space, they lit up. It was such a cool moment to witness before guests came in. The room was warm, styling, and ready for a party!

Our Magazine Moment

Before the ballroom opened, we created the photo that Jessica and Bill had been dreaming about since the very first time we talked. Bill seated in a deep blue chair. Jessica standing beside him with this confident, striking presence. The fireplace stonework and gorgeous flower arrangements behind them. A glowing “The Hobacks” sign overhead. It looked straight out of a magazine—bold, stylish, and completely them.

From First Dance to Last Call

The reception kicked off with their grand entrance and first dance. Dinner flowed into speeches from their Matron of Honor and one of the Best Men. After the father-daughter dance and cake cutting, Jessica and Bill mixed and mingled before we gathered everyone for a giant group photo on the dance floor.

Then Josi from Flip Flop Sounds opened that dance floor and absolutely crushed the rest of the night. Music, MC’ing, energy—she was on-point the entire time.

I walked out of Tetherow at 10pm buzzing. This was a big day in every sense of the word, and Jessica and Bill filled every moment with intention and joy. Being invited into their story after sixteen years of on-and-off connection, reconnection, and finally choosing each other for life… that’s the kind of love I never get tired of documenting.
