Courtney & Alex's Adventure outside bend, Oregon
A Fall Evening at Sparks Lake
October in Central Oregon just hits different. Sparks Lake in the fall has a magic all its own. The mountains feel closer, the air is crisp, and the lake sits perfectly still. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and the moments between two people really start to shine. For Courtney and Alex, that’s exactly what this engagement session was about — slowing down, being present, and soaking in all the beauty that Central Oregon has to offer.
Courtney and Alex’s Love Story
These two share a story that feels straight out of an Oregon daydream. Their Cannon Beach proposal didn’t go exactly as planned, but that’s what made it perfect. Between passing rain and last-minute sunshine, they carved out a two-hour window to make the moment their own. With the waves crashing nearby, Alex proposed with a ring made from family heirlooms that had been passed down for generations. How amazing is that?
Adventurous Souls, Weekend Hearts
Courtney and Alex are the kind of couple who make the most of their weekends. They love waking up slow with coffee and brunch, hitting the slopes, wandering through art shows, or cooking a new meal together. They’re outdoorsy and grounded, equally happy camping under the stars or spending a quiet night in. Their engagement shoot reflected exactly that balance — laid-back, connected, and effortlessly them.
The Session at Sparks Lake
When we met up at Sparks Lake, the goal was clear: keep it playful, romantic, and a little whimsical. We wandered the shoreline, climbed over rocks, and enjoyed the most perfect, diffused light. These two laughed constantly, shared quiet moments between takes, and leaned into every second of the experience. They didn’t overthink a thing... they just let themselves be together. By the time the sun dipped behind the mountains, it felt like the entire lake had been theirs for the evening.
This session wasn’t about perfect poses or picture-perfect weather. It was about two people who found their rhythm together — and let nature do the rest. Sparks Lake delivered the backdrop, but it was Courtney and Alex who brought the story to life. Honest, relaxed, and full of love, it’s the kind of Oregon engagement photography that reminds me why I do what I do.
