Maureen + Javi: Church Vows, Open Fields, & Rainbows
They Found Each Other Twice
Maureen and Javi met at church camp in high school, lost touch, and spent the next 10 to 12 years living completely separate lives. A winery on Instagram, a trap shooting video, and one very well-timed DM later, the door opened back up. He asked her on a date. The night before, he invited her to hang with friends in Tigard. They talked for hours, he kissed her walking downtown, and by the end of the night he was asking her to be his girlfriend. She told him to ask again in the morning. First thing April 10th, 2021, he did. She said yes. Five years later, they got married! How amazing is that?!?
The Prank Javi Didn't See Coming
Javi's groomsmen sent one of their own out wrapped head to toe in a white sheet for the first look instead of Maureen. Javi lost it. Honestly one of the funniest moments I've ever witnessed at a wedding. When the real first look happened, Maureen was absolutely stunning and Javi couldn't hold back the tears of joy.
A Beautiful Ceremony in Prineville
The day started at Dee Bar Farms where we all enjoyed those TWO first looks . After some great wedding party photos, we made our way to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prineville. Maureen walked down the aisle and Javi's reaction was amazing. Bishop Liam Cary officiated, someone who's known Maureen since she was a kid, which made the whole thing feel incredibly personal. A handmade lasso crafted by Maureen's sister-in-law wrapped around them during the ceremony. When they walked back up that aisle as husband and wife, the room erupted.
Dee Bar Was Ready for Them
It's spring in Central Oregon and that means afternoon thunderstorms are always possible. Today was no exception. It rained hard for about 15 minutes right as we arrived at Dee Bar. Then it stopped, the sky opened up, and the venue delivered. Wide open lawns, tall trees, and those incredible giant metal LOVE letters in the field that every single guest found their way to at some point in the evening.
First Dances and a Rainbow Nobody Ordered
The first dance, father-daughter, and mother-son were all incredible. It still holds true... I always let out a tear of joy at every father-daughter dance. They get me. We slipped outside after for couples portraits and the light was perfect. Then a rainbow appeared above the hills to th east. I'll let the photos do the rest.
Why Dee Bar Works So Well for Weddings
Dee Bar Farm isn't the flashiest venue you'll find in Central Oregon, and that's exactly the point. It's 40 acres of wide open land in Powell Butte with the Cascade Mountains sitting right there in the background, and it pulls off that rare combination of rustic and versatile that makes it work for almost any style of wedding. Couples who've celebrated here consistently say the same things: the space is incredible, the owners are amazing, and everything just feels right.
- The Cascade Mountain backdrop is hard to beat.
- 40 acres gives everyone room to breathe.
- The venue flexes from rustic to refined.
- Sheri and Ronnie, the owners, are the real deal. Every couple who's been here mentions them by name. Responsive, invested, and genuinely great to work with from booking all the way through the big day.
